I’ve been putting on Sage 100 Fund Accounting user group meetings for the past few years and always enjoy helping our clients better utilize their fund accounting software.  It’s also nice just to take a moment to gather together and chat about what is happening in the nonprofit community and its effect on everyone.

Clients sometimes ask me, “So what do you do at these user group meetings?”.  I explain that it’s an opportunity for them to talk with other Sage 100 Fund Accounting (MIP) users about their experiences and learn about new developments and product enhancements.  We also teach users new techniques to become more efficient at using their software.

I’m excited to announce our upcoming Sage 100 Fund Accounting (MIP) user group meetings which will be held in October at four different locations.  Information is listed below.  I hope to see you there!

2011 Fall User Group Topics for Discussion:

Budget Yes, it happens every year. But quite often only once a year. So who couldn’t use a refresher when it comes to creating budgets? We’ll show examples of how to put the budget wizard to work for you; the best way to make changes to an existing budget; and several other tips along the way.

Accounts Payable Version 10.2.6 of Sage 100 Fund Accounting (MIP) made improvements to the way accounts payable credit memos are processed. We’ll take a look at the changes. We’ll also talk about some of the less frequently used features in this module, including manual A/P checks and manual disbursement checks.

Fixed Assets Everybody’s got them. Somebody’s got to track them. You might as well make it as easy as possible. We’ll provide an overview of the fixed asset module explaining how assets can be tracked, depreciated and removed from the books. And did we mention the link between Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets? I guess we just did – so we might as well go ahead and show that too.
