Sage 100 News and Updates

TLS Compliance Update Required Soon for Sage 100

As previously communicated in our newsletters and by Sage directly, effective October 1, 2023, Sage will be cutting over to a more secure method of transmitting data between your Sage 100 system and the Sage licensing servers.

In more technical terms, communication via the less secure TLS 1.0 and 1.1 protocols will no longer be supported.

As such, Sage 100 customers will need to be on a current version that supports TLS 1.2 before October 2023 to prevent disruption of service.

Note: If license keys cannot be updated because your Sage 100 version is not TLS 1.2 compliant, then the software may go into read-only mode.

Please contact us if you have questions about whether your current installation is compliant with TLS 1.2.

The Sage Knowledgebase Gets a Facelift

In July 2023, the look, feel and flow of Sage Knowledgebase was redesigned based on customer feedback expressing how important it is to find answers to commonly asked questions related to your specific product.

Based on that, the content has been improved so it’s easier to read and the search experience is enhanced so you can find the answers you need quickly.

Avalara Launches Sales Tax Calculator Plugin for ChatGPT

Avalara, a popular sales tax compliance automation solution for Sage, recently announced its new integrated plugin for ChatGPT.

The new AI-based plugin will allow Sage customers to ask the platform to calculate and research sales tax rates based on their location or even calculate sales tax on a specific sale by location.

Avalara is the first tax compliance software provider to leverage the OpenAI protocol to build an integrated plugin for ChatGPT … and company representatives say they’re just getting started with AI and to expect more to come.
